How does it work?

Is splitting PDF pages free?
Yes, it is free and needs no sign-up. Just upload your PDF, choose the mode and download the output.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are not redrawn; the page from the source PDF is copied into the new file as it is, so text and images keep their original quality.
Does my original PDF change?
No. Splitting works on the temporary copy you uploaded; the original file on your device stays as it is. What you download is a new output.
Can I get specific pages separately?
Yes. In 'Page range' mode you write groups like 1-3, 5, 7-9; each group becomes its own PDF. If you want to gather the groups in a single document, turn on the merge option.
How many pages can I split in one PDF?
There is no fixed limit on the number of pages; however, a single run produces at most 200 parts. On very large documents, the 'split every N pages' mode gives faster results.
What happens if I upload an encrypted or corrupted PDF?
If the tool cannot open the document, you get a clear warning. You can save such a file as an unlocked copy first and try again.

When you only need a few pages from a long PDF, or you have to break a scanned document into smaller parts, wrestling with the whole file wastes time. PdfSplit splits a single PDF at page level: you can extract each page as its own file, pull out the page ranges you choose, or break the document into chunks with a set number of pages.
Splitting is lossless; pages are not redrawn, and the content from the source document is copied into the new file as it is. If one file is created, it downloads directly as a PDF; if several files are created, they come as a single ZIP archive. We explain the modes in detail and how to write ranges in the guide.
Output names are derived from the source file: in page splitting the page number, in range mode the range you chose, and in chunk splitting the chunk order appear in the name. That way the files you download do not get mixed up in the archive; you can tell from the name which pages each file holds.
